How does /give work?

The /give command places the specified item into the player’s inventory. Syntax: /give <player> <item> [quantity]. You can give up to 2304 items at once (36 stacks of 64). The item appears in the nearest free inventory slot.

Popular items

The most commonly given items via /give are diamond and netherite tools, golden apples, totems of undying, elytra and command blocks. Giving items requires operator privileges — /op your_nick.

NBT data

With /give you can give items with NBT data: enchanted, renamed, or with custom attributes. For example, a sword with Sharpness 1000 or armor with Protection 255. Our generator creates basic commands.

Java and Bedrock

The /give syntax is the same in Java and Bedrock Edition, but item IDs can differ. Our generator uses Java Edition IDs. In Bedrock, use diamond_sword without the prefix instead of minecraft:diamond_sword.
