How does /difficulty work?
The /difficulty command sets the world difficulty level. Syntax: /difficulty <peaceful|easy|normal|hard>. The change takes effect instantly for all players on the server.
Difficulty levels
Peaceful (peaceful) — mobs do not spawn, health regenerates quickly, hunger does not decrease. Easy (easy) — mobs are weaker, hunger does not kill. Normal (normal) — the standard balance. Hard (hard) — mobs are stronger, hunger kills, zombies break doors.
Peaceful difficulty
On peaceful difficulty all hostile mobs instantly disappear. Health recovers quickly. The hunger bar does not decrease. Useful for building and exploring without threats.
Hard difficulty
On hard difficulty zombies can break wooden doors, mobs deal maximum damage, and hunger can kill the player (on normal it leaves half a heart). Spiders can spawn with effects.
